Let's meet the team members!

For a project like this, we will need many different talents to collaborate!

And you will have a lot of potentials to grow through connecting with the community.

If you have passion and responsibility, welcome to join our project team!

Our Project Teammates 2022

We are a diverse group of HKU-ers, coming together in our love for food and community. With different cultures, languages and disciplines etc., we’re working together across space and time zones (in Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and Norway…).

In Collaboration with Beyond the Pivot (BTP), a HK-registered charity[ID91/10725] based in HKU, your donation will directly benefit those part of the Initiative - caters, food insecure populations, student volunteers and the very neighborhood you are a part of, and care for.

I am so excited to join the family of Catering Care, as I was attracted by the value of this project when I noticed the promotion email for the first time. Talking about my hobbies, I enjoy traveling and swimming. I really treasure the opportunity to join Catering Care to work for the community through collaborating with so many interesting team members. Looking forward to growing with Catering Care in the following journey!

My reasons for joining the Catering Care team are simple: I love volunteering and I believe that food brings people closer together on many different levels, which is in line with Catering Care's mission - "Care through Catering".

I am glad and grateful to be part of the team again, and I look forward to bringing along more beneficial and positive impacts to the community!

Karen Lo

Bsc III

Hello, I am Karen majoring in food and nutritional science. As I am a health-conscious student, I wish people could have basic meals and spread the idea of a healthy diet. That's why it is precious to be a member of catering care to help the people in need. Every small thing we can do is worth it, supporting each other and the community.  I hope that in the coming days and nights, we could be part of the community and let them have an enjoyable meal!

Jacky Cheung

BSS IV

Hi there! This is Jacky, a final-year Psychology undergraduate who enjoys bringing happiness to people around. While many of my peers are wrestling with pursuing more, some in our society are struggling with getting a meal, the most fundamental need among all types of pursuits. As an eccentric guy who likes cooking and talking to people (about food), I hope to empower those in need by serving them with sustainable and decent food compassionately.

Chelsea Yuen

BChinMed II

Hi, this is Chelsea, a year 2 student studying Chinese medicine. Before returning to school, I had worked in Food & Beverage industry for over 10 years. During the time, although proud to be serving in a city called gourmet paradise, I have as well noticed the unequal situation of food distribution here. On one side, there are lots of wastage from restaurants; on the other side, there are people starving every day. It’s a problem of such perplexity that seems impossible to solve, however, every cloud has a silver lining. Therefore I am here, rethinking business and community relationships, and wish to support the food insecure populations.
