Bijas Vegetarian is the first vegetarian restaurant in the one-hundred-year history of HKU. It is an equal opportunities employer that hires people with different abilities and seniors. It provides pay-by-weight buffet-style meals to promote the concept of food waste reduction. It also offers a green dining environment that nourishes the seed of mindfulness.

U-deli is a HKU restaurant operated by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and offers takeaway meals, gourmet snacks and Taiwanese style drinks. Its mission is to promote self-reliance of people with disabilities by providing training and employment opportunities to them.

Total Dessert 

 

Situated at Sai Ying Pun, Total Dessert features the theme of nostalgia and old Hong Kong. It sells different kinds of traditional Chinese soup and Taiwanese deserts, with hand-grinded sweet soup being its expertise.  The variety of desserts on the menu caters to different tastes and provides a variety of options for the neighborhoods.

​Tung Tai Supermarket 

​

Serving mostly the residents in Sai Ying Pun, Tung Tai is one of the few first-generation and medium-sized supermarkets that sells speciality products no longer sold in large chains at a low price. With its long history, it provides a convenient location for customers to do grocery shopping.

Established in 1987, it serves the underprivileged and the homeless population in the Western and Kennedy Town districts. It mainly operates drop-in center and conducts outreach services.

Church of the Saviour - Methodist

For more than 50 years, the Church has been committed to service and missionary work in its neighbourhood through Sunday Worship and youth programs, including interests class and gatherings.

Its serves to cultivate civil awareness, social responsibility and community connection among youngsters through courses on life skills and communication skills development and promote integral human development of young people. It endeavors to provide a favourable growing environment for the vulnerable group of youngsters as well. 

Under Caritas’ Youth and Community Service division, the centre advocates care and concern for the entire community and provides professional social services including consultations, social network construction, trainings for social workers, community education and social concern events for the residents.

Neighbourhood Kitchen (NK) is a service project by Caritas Mok Cheung Sui Kun Community Centre that provides freshly made meals to beneficiaries living in subdivided units. 

Charity Partner

BTP was established in 2009 and is affiliated with the "Student Incubation Plan" of the University of Hong Kong. It hopes to change the world with a volunteer spirit, and it is committed to improving the status quo of education, poverty, medical care, information technology, and cultural conservation in the aided areas. Six independent volunteer projects are under operation respectively in Ghana, Hainan, Sichuan, Hong Kong, Yunnan, Inner Mongolia. BTP has provided  fundraising  and other support to Catering Care.

Supports from HKU departments 

Common Core office strives to provide HKU undergraduates with interdisciplinary learning experiences and broader horizons.It aims to develop all students' intellectual, social, and innovative skills required to address the complexities of 21st-century life. Through the support of HKU Common Core, we have successfully received a fund of 3000 HKD to cover our operation!

By partnering with Common Core, we also expect to organize more activities on learning and advocating food justice issues. 

Edible Spaces HKU is an initiative by the General Education Unit and the Sustainability Office and it involves students and staff in urban agriculture through farming workshops and harvest lunches.

Catering Care is excited to partner with Edible Spaces HKU to raise more awareness about sustainable urban agriculture as we collectively imagine a more resilient food system. Edible Spaces HKU will be sharing some of their harvest with Catering Care beneficiaries, helping to organize activities as part of the Christmas Camp and more!

Yang Tuck Ming & Wong Fung Ying Service Learning Fund aims to encourage local Hong Kong students to   partake service learning in Hong Kong or abroad (excluding mainland) so as to promote the service spirit of the HKU community and students’ engagement in addressing a concern of the community or global problem that confronts all mankind.
